im in an electronic class and have an old hifonics speaker amp, i need a schematic so i can find whats blown (or shorted in real terms)

amp is hifonics zeus zxi40.4 80watts speaker amplifier.

if you could hook me up with a site that i can find it or if you know where i can find it. anything would help!

thank you for your help in advanced

last summer i swamped my truck and both my speaker amp and sub amp got submerged in water. i dried both of them out and the sub amp workes fine (hifonics brutus 2100rms) but the speaker amp didnt, i saw one of the two fuses was blown so i replaced it and it blows as soon as the ground and power touch the terminals. so its shorted somewhere and its getting streight power, no resistance. im in electronics class and am working with resistors i just need to find a schematic so i can check all the resistors and replace whatever is shorting out.

you don't really need a schematic to check for shorted transistors. get your DMM (digital multimeter) out and check them....(if it has diode check)

it sounds like to me, your amp has some bad power supply transistors. each power supply transistor will have 1 resistor connected to the gate of each transistor.

the rectifiers will read as a dead short on the 2 outside legs. but they are NOT bad. it is just the way they read...

you need to go here and read up. buy the dvd and get to work son!
