First time ever amping a component set in my vehicle. Truth is I really don't much idea how too...

1. How do I go about actually amping the speakers? Like, does any have a step by step guide or something? I tried look, didn't find much that included powering them off of an amp. Most were just replacing speakers from factory ones (I'm referring to using crossovers and all that jazz. I've just never done any of that)

2. I'm throwing my mid-bass driver in the factory spot, but whats a good location for the tweeter? There's no stock tweeter spot in the a-pillar or anything and I'm not going to attempt fiber glass. Would something like placing them in the corners of my dash work and have the sound reflect off the windshield?

Thanks for the help. I'm not new to car audio, I've done multiple installs and such and been here for a while, just have never run components off of an amp and I don't wanna attempt to bs my way through it.b

that's a lie. so you've done installs and never put a speaker on an amp? or used a hole saw to install a tweeter in a door panel?

By speaker I mean a front stage speaker, not a subwoofer. I've installed my own subs, and done a few installs for a few friends of mine who just wanted extra bass and had no concern for new front stage speakers.

Regardless, I have the question I posed. I'm not looking to argue

good luck with your install.

good luck with your install.
thanks man. Anyone got anything? Am I just simply over-thinking how this is all hooked up too much? Is it just speaker to crossover into amp? Also need advice on where to put the tweeter. I'm really not looking to tear anything up

its pretty simple, you just leave the stock speaker wires connected to the hu and just let them hang in your doors (incase you ever want to throw the stock speakers back in) then install a 4 channel or 2 channel just like you install a mono block amplifier. Just crimp a second remote wire to where you connected the remote wire for your mono block. You run wire directly from the amp to each speaker (or crossover if you are gonna run components) if you know your negative from your positive you can do it. If you need any help feel free to PM me.

I'm sorta in the same boat as scottyk, my monoblock is already hooked up. Do I jus run RCAs from the monoblock to the 4 channel or do I need to run the RCAs to the HU? Not tryin to jack the thread jus didnt wanna make another of the same subject....Thanks in advance

well the rcas to your monoblock are probably the subwoofer rcas on the back of teh hu, and are filtered for the lows by ur hu. most hu's have a front output, back output and sub output

I figured the crossover from the components would fix the lows but I guess it wouldn't help much for coaxials in the rear? Never thought car audio would be so complicated!!
