need a quick question answered on banana clips

hi, i want to run my 8 gauge wire directly from my amp to my subwoofer. the problem is it wont fit in the terminals...can i just find banana clips that accept 8 gauge wire and do it that way?

You're right at that size where there is really no reducer. I can find 0 to 4 gauge reducers and 4 to 8 gauge. Then it jumps down to banana plugs, but none that I can find accept 8 gauge. If I were you, I would get some cutting pliers and trim away just a little so that it will fit in the terminal. Clip the wires right at the plastic insulation so there are none hanging out and then just push the wire in the terminal all the way up to where the plastic jacket touches. This way there is no exposed copper. It works and it's clean. Problem solved.
