Need a New Multimeter

My old multimeter Waveteck HD160 is getting old and starting to act funky.

I've changed the batteries, tried new probes, cleaned all the connectors.

But, it's starting to drift and isn't so accurate anymore. I purchased it used about 8 years ago for $20 bucks. So it's had a very good life.

But, does anyone have recommendations for a new meter?

I like Fluke and have used one at work and I likes it. But, anyone got a model the use or like.

flukes are very overpriced... for simple car audio stuff i'd get another cheap one like a $50 craftsman or something....

Well I don't just do car audio... I'm an Electronics, RF, & Audio Tech. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I do a lot of designing, building, modifying, fixing, breaking, and refixing on lots of different types of electronics.

I guess I should have said that.

I'm an electronics technologist and I use a Fluke 112. It is a very accurate, well rounded meter. And it was cheap for a Fluke. The biggest difference from thos one to the more expensive ones was that it didn't come with the life time warranty. It didn't come with a carrying case, or anything fancy either. I used the one from my old wavetek one.

grrrr....they retail for !60-170. ZIts a unbeatable deal unless someone stole one and is selling it cheaper

Yea, is that how you got it? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I've been looking at the 179 kit with the IR Thermometer. It's what I use at work and I like it.

I want something that I can hook to my computer and have a graph function.

BUT, I don't really want to spend the $800 on the Fluke setup. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
