Stay far away from HP and Sony's. Other than off brands like Averatec, they are the worst laptops to buy (on the consumer end). There have been nothing but good reviews on the Gateway FX series laptops. I would definitely consider one of those. Otherwise, I've had nothing but good luck with every XPS I've dealt with. Specially if you get one on sale (like valentines, or Easter sales coming up). HPs are EASILY the most common laptop I get in for repairs. They outnumber everything else 2:1 for repairs, it's pretty ridiculous.

No way my father has had 2 of them "hp" in 6 years and loves both of them dell is by far the most repaired computer out there and you have to order a lot of the parts from dell or end up sending the computer to them which who knows how long that could take.

I have to agree with blackdragonaudi I have been threw 4 dells in the past year all the same model I have had to send it in to dell for repairs. I will never ever buy another dell for as long as I live.

Compared to the Precision line, yes it does.

I would get that Sager over any of the laptops mentioned in here, including the M90 that I mentioned. Only plus I see with the M90 is that they all come standard with a 3-year on-site repair warranty. I haven't had to use it once in two years, though.

Also, another option I forgot to mention: If you really want to have a computer that can fluently play any game as well as a notebook to take to class, you could buy a good used gaming desktop to sit in your room, and then something like an Asus EE PC to take to classes. You could get both for cheaper than a single mid-level gaming notebook would cost you, and it would be the best of both worlds.

My 17" M90 is a pain to take to classes and the battery life is atrocious. When i first got it, I was lucky to get an hour and a half out of it.
