Need a new battery

I suspect my battery is going bad. If I leave my stereo on for more than 20 minutes, I can't start the car back up. Also when I hit the brakes, my lights dim (keep in mind my sound system consists of 4 speakers running off of a head unit).

I plan on amping my speakers and a sub very soon off of this amp, :

I was thinking of an Optima Red Top or Yellow Top, but my local store said I'll be paying about $350.00 for it (keep in mind I live in Canada). I was hoping to find a nice battery like that for under $200.00.

So, keeping in mind I'll be running a system under 1000 watts and only want 1 battery, suggest a new battery for me, ideally under $200.00.

Thanks,

Amir

honestly if i was you you can get a deka for cheaper than a optima and in my opinion the deka is better as i have used both and the optima shit out on me twice lasting 6 mos. each so i will not run them anymore..

Where can I buy a deka? I was suggested a deka intimidator by the Pontiac forum I belong to, but didn't get any other information.

How about Kinetik? The local shop was trying to tell me he could give me a killer deal on one. But I'm unsure how killer of a deal it was when he thought $150 for a new 12" Type-S was a killer deal as well.

Kinetiks are decent, they just tend to have a slow discharge. I'd consider Powermaster as well, a lot of people seem to be happy with them.
Slow discharge, what's that exactly? From the way you worded it, I assume that it's a bad thing?

Jesus, and for the one that Kinetik recommends, the 1400 (I typed in 1000 watts RMS), it's MSRP is $400.00.

Jesus, are batteries really that expensive?

Slow discharge isn't really a bad thing, different types of batteries work best for different applications. You can find the 1400's for a lot cheaper than that off of Ebay.

My 1400 on an amp much like the amp you specified and it does not flinch, I have had a bigger 4 channel hooked up and I have also had a good sized class D hooked up to it as well and it did pretty well. Mine is on a stock alt with the big 3 done. My 1400 is nearly 4 years old as well.
