Im looking to upgrade to a more powerful amp. i need some suggestions and recommendations. I want a monoblock. $400 would be the max i would want to spend, though. thanks for any help

consider a alpine 500.1? had a buddy with that and 2 type r 12's. shit pounded.

You will be running your subs at a 2 ohm load. Consider an amp that puts out max power to 2 ohm. AFAIK the Kicker does max power to 2 ohm. There's also a JBL/Crown amp on the forum here for 150$ish that would be a solid performer and is pretty flexible with impedence.

For that budget you have way better options than the ones you listed that's for sure. My advice would be to consider buying used off the FS section of this forum. Loads of great deals there.

ALpine 500.1 wouldnt put out the power im looking for.

and i will look around. im usually pretty skeptic about buying used items though.

I need information on brands though, like which brands are the best? i know RF, Kicker, Alpine, etc the high end stuff. Is that sutff worth it? Are there better amps out there for cheaper?

I believe i am going to go with the AQ1200d! it looks solid and all the guys around here really like it. so ill trust you guys. at $250 its a good price. hopefully that thing will have my subs pounding at 1ohm
