Need a new amp for the sub

I have an Assassin 8 sub in my trunk. My current amp just died and I'm looking for a new amp that is powerful, but at the same time very clean (more important). My sub is this: http://ascendantaudio.com/assassin8specs.html

Some recommended to get a JBL. I think that I should not spend more than about $180 since this is only for the sub. I'm looking to get a 2-channel amp so if I decide to get one more sub, I don't have a problem connecting it.

A lot of people use Hifonics and Profile as budget amps. Wait for others to post, they will help you out more than I could probally.

a team mate of mine is selling a nice directed 1500 in the classifieds for $160ish, he's a good guy.

at least if you got this you can upgrade later, and just turn the gains down on it for a single sub

how many watts do you need? what's the voice coil on the sub?

I provided a link to my sub. It says that the voice coil is single, 4 ohm. I was told that it can take up to 600W amp. So I'm looking for a 2 channel amp that can provide around 600W bridged (only one sub). Clean output is very important.

Please let me know what do you think of that Hifonics Zeus link that I provided.

Denim, that looks very good! Any other people agree with this amp? You have like 17000 posts, so you must really know this stuff well. If I don't get any more responses (I hope I will), I'll just buy that amp. Thanks a lot!
