Need A Lot Of Help!!!

Hey there this is going to be an interesting one. We'll see if you can help us.

We're a band from Pennsylvania and are planning on doing a national tour very soon!!!! The problem is this:

We have a (cough) Chevy 1988 G-20 Conversion Van. We got it at a good price because it had been stolen and messed up. We pretty much put the thing back together but the ONE thing it has been missing for TOOO long is a sound system.

Not even a radio.

It's tough when you travel 5 hours everyday without any music to rock to.

Because the previous radio was stolen out of it, we're pretty sure all of the wiring is *** backwards. We have NEVER completely rewired a car audio system and are in dire need of assistance.

First off, what is the best way to wire speakers? What speaker cable to use? etc... and we do have a CD player to install, but we still need the harness and fit kit. For a vehicle as old as the 88 we're not sure where in the crap to begin!

Any suggestions, or help, or anything. PLEASE get back to us.

if you think the wiring is that messed up and you dont know how to do it yourself, i'd say take a trip to the nearest car audio dealer and have them install a deck and wire it for you. Decks are really really gay to wire. you could probably do the speakers yourself since its mostly just + to + and - to -.... someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought the size of the speaker wire depends on the power of the speakers...

nah your right, more gauge equals less resistance to the speaker equals more power. And yeah, if you have no clue what your doing, better to pay and have it done right than screw it all up and still have to pay for it to be done right.
