need a lil help with my dvd player!

How do you make a switch that will bypass the parking brake feature on dvds? I want to be

able to have the dvd playing while i drive(for my passenger, honestly!) and for flossin some-

times!! I know i need a push button and a toggle switch, but how do i wire them!? PLEASE DO NOT WATCH A MOVIE WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING . It is against the law in pretty much every place I can think of. Now that I have the disclaimer out of the way. Not that I suggest or advocate doing this. But most just need the parking brake input grounded.

Nope. I tried that first! I have a panasonic model with a blue wire with a yellow stripe. It doesn't do anything when i hook it up to the ground!

Try testing your emergency brake switch with a meter. If it's positive. Then put a switch inline with 12v +.

I'll try that and see what happens. Most people i ask, say that i need to hook it up to

be grounded when the p.brake is applied.

Well i finally found out what i wasn't doing! I have a pioneer avm 700r master unit and it has a wire that goes to the rear video outputs that needs to be grounded. Once i grounded that wire, grounded the parking brake wire on the dvd and turned my system on, i was able to watch the dvd player for the first time! In my car I have my dvd player running like to the power that my radio is going to so my dvd player will have power when I start the car but I cut it on and off by my remote control
