need a isolator for weekend car?

im going to be doing an install on my 06 trailblazer ss. i have installed multiple batteries before in my everyday cars and it worked fine because i drove it everyday, Im just wondering if i need a isolator for this project because i only drive the truck on weekends,

just one extra battery, also the only reason why i think i need one is because i only drive the car on weekends, meaning my batteries wont get the constant charge like they would get if i drove the car on a daily basis

well i would say yes then how much for one though ive seen one for like $29 120amps and ill be waiting for those pics. i have an 05 trailblazer so im going to do my whole setup some time this month!

no, the xs 2700 is 4 months old never used, and upfront will be a brand new odessey battery, but not the same size as the xs power.

what you want is a SOLENOID, not an isolator.

You can go to LEDs - underbody kits, cathodes, flexible LED strips, dome lights and purchase a 200A solenoid for under $50.

ok are you talking about this? 200 Amp Relay - High Current - Automotive Battery Isolator kinda looks like an isolator to me.

Yes, that is what you want.

It's a relay, different than an isolator, but does isolate batteries when vehicle is OFF.

I agree isolating the batteries with a solenoid that disconnects the second battery when the truck is off should prevent the batteries from draining each other, but it won't prevent the starting battery from parasitic drain, nor will it prolong battery life.
