I want to replace my Alpine... the face is loose and half the time I have to press the buttons more than once for them to work. I hate the detachable face crap.

Anyone have a suggestion for a single DIN head unit without a detachable face?

Only real requirement is that it have USB rear port. (A plus would it ALSO have iPod port, like the Alpine does)

No real budget limit.

Thanks in advance!

wow that is kind of odd. I mean after all the decks going removable face. I think eclipse had the only ones left few years back. now they all do. have you thought its just your crapp alpine?

i haven't seen any non-detachable face decks worth a **** since the early 90's sonys.
while they def took a dump after 2005 I wouldnt say that they were all bad. cda9835 was good...7995 was good. it just depends.

the Sony ES was hard to beat quality wise. way ahead of its time

I love alpine , i currently have a 9855 and its awesome. I was just talking about decks without a removable face. IMO alpine is top of the food chain these days , but mobile ES is and always will be the Shiz.

The Kappa's have a high sensitivity rating of 93 db so the X802-5 would be fine. A good high sensitivity 8" sub in a properly sized box would fit...
