Need a Cut Sheet Layout?

your supposed to design so you rip it not crosscut. Alot easier to cut on a table saw by yourself.
properly designed cut out sheet: http://madisound.com/pdf/fostexcabs/103e_enclrev.pdf

pretty good idea if you don't charge alot

oh yea i can do that also. Its on the persons request how they want me to design there cutout sheet. length wise, width wise, or just mix it up to fit on a sheet. On that premade cut out sheet there is not kerf. You would need at least a 1/8" kerf for the saw blade. Looks good though.

Yea, im chargin pretty cheap. 2 or 3 bucks. Just willing to make something out of it, but mostly would love for everyone to have more times in there hands, then thinking out a puzzle on how to fit this piece in that position.

I wouldn't account for the saw blade unless the person wanted it. But thats how everybody f's up there box because they didn't account for the blade if they need to.

true, but having that 1/8" kerf on the cut sheet makes it look more cleaner and more organized.

I mean don't get me wrong it's a great idea. I support people on their grind.

but ****, are ppl that lazy???

I guess i just LIKE to do a lottt of the legwork myself, maybe it's me!

But you can't beat 2-3$, better then practicing on a sheet of MDF and messing up.

actually, yes people do get quite lazy. Especially when you either get frustrated on how to plan to cut your wood, or already messed up and got to buy another new sheet of MDF. Also, when you are so excited that you want to build your box asap, this conserves alot of time.

Love,

Dante

I agree 100%. You wind up wasting wood otherwise as you can cut panels in the wrong order and end up with needing two panels from a small piece when you just trimmed off alot of other wood that would have been enough.

It depends on the cut. As I said previously, if you are splitting two panels (two panels out of one piece of wood), then you cut the line. If you are trimming off a piece of wood, you want to cut just outside the line (side of the scrap) as the line is the actual measurement.

So for a cutout sheet, you techinally would not want to account for the 1/8"?
It depends on how precise you want to be. I've never had any problems with the above technique. I got it from a woodworking site that I got from diyaudio.com

Now if I were to hand one of these cutout sheets to a person at home depot would he be able to cut the wood for me? or no?

Some people include it in their box designs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Seriously, anyone who needs one just PM me.I'll do it for free.I'm not looking to make measly $2 for a couple minutes of work.

Not trying to take your buisness away, but it's not even worth $2.
