it's all about port lenght.. something in that amount of space will have to be long and thin to work,

BTW, slot port, round port, it's all the same if done correctly.

heres an idea about a round port.

that would actually work perfectly..and its even smaller than the box i have now..port..6in pvc? how long?

What is the mounting depth of the sub? Not that hard to get a slot port on the front of the box if you have. a sub less than 7.5" deep

sub and port firing up? sub od = 11in, its perfect if i build a box tht wide to mount sub on top of it

so 5.25 is enough clearance from port wall to bottom of box?

Yeah, it would still work just fine, just change the port length a bit.

When using subwoofertools.com you need to play with the xmax number to get the desire port size. I've done several boxes using that tool and all have sounded fine.

This is close to what you wanted. With your 21" tall spec it had NO choice but to give a BIG port volume even with a narrow port.
