Need 3 efficient 10's.....

okay, here the answer to your situation.
buy the infiinity from crutchfield,, 4 of them as instructed in my post(sell one) for $220 total

so that leaves you with that 2 ohm mono amp, so sell it here or on ebay for some cash( I figure you get about $100) and then buy used directed 1100d or mono 1000 watt---1 ohm rated for about $150-180shipped price. could get lower if you go for the lanzar and other brands.

so you could be still spending under your budget,,, $220 +$80 for mono 1 ohm amp==300 depending on outcome of buy and sell amps.
More trouble then its worth bud...just stop now...

yea, because i have dual alpine amps (70x4 and 600x1)that are both the same size and being mounted already. I dont want killer loud bass, so 600rms should be enough, since I am darn near happy with 150rms to a single 10.

I really want to stick with 3 10's...

i vote try the mach 5's. you just can't beat $35 per sub. the reason they are so cheap is because the owner does it all for nearly no profit. just enough to keep the business running. the official forum is over at teamssaudio.com. you should check it out and you could even talk to the owner of the company if you have any questions.

I'm thinking about it. I really wish I could hear them first though. I went to the mach5 site and it says he is out until aug 15 or something like that..... That and im thinking I could buy a few extra in case I blow one, I have a spare or two... The only thing though, is that they aren't nearly as effecient as the Perfect's the box was built for, so Im wondering how they will really stack up....

buy an extra and use it for HT! i would buy one too, just out of curiousity and they are so cheap, but i just bought a 13Ov.2 and im outta cash.

if you are going for SQ, then i would say 3 10's would be plenty for an SQ/SQL setup. plus if you only have 175 watts per sub, i would think that the mach 5 subs will use that 175 watts better, cuz the perfects are like 400 wrms, so it will probably take a little more power to push them to their peak performance. efficiency is not everything.

measure that port and get an exact measurement of how big the box is. take a trash bag and put it inside the box and then fill it with water. there are a few other methods too.

I never thought about the trash bag idea... How would I measure that?

I was thinking about getting the 18 for HT. Id need an amp for it though, something wiht a crossover... I dont really need it though, i already have a really nice sounding Polk 10" Powered Sub and matching bookshelf speakers and 5.1 satellites..

if remember correctly, the owner said the 18 was not good for HT use, but i dont know why, it was in a topic over in their forum at teamssaudio.com.

i've never used the trash bag/water idea, cuz i've never had a fiberglass enclosure. i dont really know how you would measure it, but i would just say use what you have, take out a 2 liter bottle and do i that way, i really dont know, but im sure someone on here knows.

Mach5 build quality is second to none.

The 6.5's so far so good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Loyd will be getting some of the 12's soon and the 18's have already had good review from some highly respectible IB nerds (no offence to IB guys cus IB is the shizzle).
