n00b reciever HELP!!!

I have my reciever hooked up exactly as it shows (tv HDMI to the reciever output, PS3 hdmi to the reciever input) and I cant get NOTHING!!

I know the speakers are hooked up right because I can get the FM radio to work. This is the Onkyo 604.... HELP!!

HDCP FTL..... I doubt there's anything you can do about it. Does your TV only have one HDMI input?

It has 2 inputs..I've tried them both

Your're going to have to go straight from ps3 to one, and then reciever to the other.

I'm assuming you have the input on the TV switched to the HDMI input? Are you running the HDMI cable from the monitor out?

I've seen this before, it's part of the HDCP (copyright protection). The Tv is trying to "handshake" with the PS3 through the reciever but it cannot.... so you get nothing showing up on the screen.

wtf...I've hooked up 4 through HT systems and havn't had that happen yet...

he has to go into the menu for the receiver and asign the inputs right

also the receiver might not support 1080p?

my hd-dvd player works flawless thorugh the receiver and then onto the tv.

im gonna guess its just a "setting" problem.

and renember to turn on the tv first then receiver then ps3

my denon out the box didnt have any of the tuner dvd cd inputs any of them didnt have hdmi assigned to them i had to assign hdmi to dvd for it to work

The reciever DOES have HDCP.....so does that mean I have to go a different route to hook up my PS3 (video anyways)..

I still cant understand why I can't hook up my tv.

no it doesnt it has to work something is wrong with the settings somewhere try 720p or 1080i see what happens

but remember with hdcp you have to turn on the tv first and the dvd player last

***probably not before but now with the receiver its almost a must other day i turned on my hd-dvd player first and i was getting picture but no audio***

ok im reading hte manual online

is pure audio off? {page 61} in the manual

also make sure you have both hdmi connections in the right place
