W205 and H701 sound level?

Ok guys, i know i have a lot of tuning ahead of me, but the one thing that is driving me crazy right now is having different input levels.

I'm running alpines w205 to the h701 processor using the optical out and airnet to control the H701.

The Radio and Ipod inputs are relatively on the same level but the cd/dvd is much quieter so when i switch it is very soft on dvd and once i correct its very very loud on the radio. where do i go to adjust the input levels for each of these

My DVD video level is low, but everything else is relatively the same. I don't have an ipod, but I know in all of my experience dvd's are recorded at a much lower volume since they are generally used in home environments where the noise floor is much lower.

I believe there was some setting that makes the CD/DVD sound close to the radio level. When I get in my car in a little bit I'll look for that setting for ya

Go to the Setup>Audio screen and turn on Defeat and see if that changes anything. That should disable the h701 and you can see if it's a problem with that or not.

trying it now, but dont i need the h701 to be on to get surround sound

there is the "dvd level" in the h701 menu. try that.
