Myths about sundown only SPL

If you are talking about SQ, as this thread does, excellent midbass is a must.

If your EQ looks like a smiley face then that may be what you prefer but it surely isn't SQ.

Can a Sundown be used in an excellent SQ system? Sure. Ported, massive wattage ran Sundowns will just need tuned correctly and need a lot of it to blend well.

This may surprise some folks... but we have a guy running an NS v.3 15" in SQ with the rest of his system Hyrbrid Audio. The woofer was the highest scoring part of his system.

He runs it IB for reference.

Doesn't suprise me one bit. I think you have a fabulous line up. I am of the camp that the sub decision is less important than just about everything else speaking strictly SQ of course.

 
Yeah the sub don't mean much. That's how I get away with doing very good with mine. It was also the highest scoring part last judging.

As for the midbass. It's a must. If you don't have it you don't have upfront bass. Plain and simple
