Emergency medicine. It for a construction site, more of a safe guard than anything. She will be on the clock a lot, but the work load shouldn't be very high. Well, they said there will be a lot of walking involved.

Lolz I am fine with her being away... I say that now, my opinion may change.

May hire a house keeper to clean up once a week with the extra $$, takes some pressure off me.

Well me and my wife have a different kind of relationship, we don't like being away from each other even for a day/night and the only time we have went 24hrs without each other in 9yrs is because my car blew a head gasket and I bought a new one the next day and that's the longest we have been apart. I really am quite lucky I guess when you look at some others getting a divorce in just a couple years together and the amount of cheating that goes on in those type of relationship just before the **** hits the fan and they hate one another, I just feel bad for the kids caught in that type of crap!

O man if we had kids, the whole idea of this job wouldn't be on the table. I have to leave every few months for conferences for 5-7 days so the idea of being together every night isn't possible. I know a week is a far stretch from 4 months, but it happens. She told me if I cheated she would shoot me in the face, she showed me the gun to make sure I understood...

She is going to be a Paramedic in Afghanistan. 4 month tours with a private contractor/construction company protected by the US military. Pay is $115k/year...

my minimum is 200k if its in a hot zone. In other places OCONUS, at least 85k with all living expenses paid for, car, and apt/villa.

I was with Dyncorp so I was over in the WRM buildings across from the runway. Was awesome watching b1 bombers taking off at 5am, the blue flame was longer than the plane!
I always felt sorry for you guys stuck on base. In town we got treated like anyone else, no one showed agression to us.. Most were pretty nice come to think about it! Never could get used to the men holding hands thing. creepy.

I worked with Dyncorp quite a bit, mostly with generator runs. You guys had all the nice trucks! And hell yeah, those B1's are badass. I got my reenlistment done in front of one. I was able to get off base a little bit, I worked with local boy scouts a bit.

 

I've been around the world, and the only time I have ever actually got a bit of "culture shock" was when I seen the servants following the upper class around when they were shopping in the souqs. Blew my mind the first time I seen that for some reason. But I never was shown any aggression either.
