My System Sucks? wth?!?!

Ok...so here I have...a nissan 350z...

I took a couple days, ripped apart the interior...Raammat'd/Ensolited the doors, and the rear part that houses the glove box and rear speakers...and I did a medium job of the same in the trunk area (ran out of material)...all was good...car sounded great...stock stereo sounded awesome.

Installed the Alpine CDA-9887, with a PDX 4.150

Then I put in some Focal Polyglass 165CVX Coax's up front with some door pods...wow...the sound beautiful...it COULD sound better...but not bad.

Then I put in my Kicker CVT10" in my box from wickedcas.com (the one that replaces the stock glove box); basically it is a 1 cubic foot sealed enclosure firing downwards (has about 6" of room to fire down upon) into the glove box area...now my sub output really sucks...it doesn't hit, and its barely there...the game is up to around 60% which I think is already unnecessary...now I did raammat the entire glove box area and ensolite'd it before i put the box in...would that cause it? I also put a lot of polyfil in...well it seemed like a lot but it was only about 1/2 pound of the stuff (1/3 of the 20oz bag I bought)...could that be it? or is it just the enclosure itself? I mean, it really isn't even there until I really crank the stereo...I guess I could pump more gain...but I don't see why I would need to, and I don't think that would even solve the issue...

Anyone with any troubleshooting ideas?

Thanks!!!

I'll give it a try tomorrow...and I'll double check that I bridged the sub right...but would the fact that the enclosure is facing down...and there isn't too much air to move around in that space be the cause as well?

How much output are you looking for? That sub isn't exactly going to slam or anything, but it should certainly have a presence
I'm not a bass freak...but seriously...its lacking a LOT...I had the same amount of power going into the old Type-S, and about 100w going into some sony 12" and I was happy with both...right now i'm not happy...

could the fact that I put ensolite all around where the sub waves travel have anything to do with it?

Just put it somewhere else and see if it does what you expected

ya i would do that too ^

i had a i had a pdx i tried to bridge and i was not very happy with it. it works GREAT for my door speakers though.

there is a low pass filter that might be to low. play with that a little to see if it makes a differance.

what size wires are you running?

so your from the MA/NH area? Im from MA too, i seen you say wickedcas.com so i figured you was from around here, they do decent work but very expensive

firing into ensolite isnt going to help anything at all, but then again, neither will firing into carpet. It will share similar effects, so i wouldnt worry about that too much.

as stated above, 1cf is pretty large for a sealed 10" sub, polyfill isnt going to help that situation.

Its all about imaging. move the subwoofer around and see where you get the best output.

Location isnt that great. You will get more output with a sub in the rear hatch area. This is most likely 98% of the issue.

the best location in a 350z is as far in the rear as possible with the sub firing up, into the rear glass.
