yea thats what im trying to do, not much else i can do, u cant see the gap though really in person unless u get down and look at it

Looks decent my brother. You should get a nice piece of wood with grain similar to the rest of the interior. Make you a whole new insert to mount the hu in. Then stain, and lacquer it up. oh yea, the problem i had with that gap was, theres 2 screws on top of the wood plastic trim u have screw in, and cant do that unless theres a small gap
