My System May be improved

I spend a good deal of time going thru here and honestly if I saw the post or felt I had something to add to it I would have by now. Sorry

Um... I guess I should of asked my questioned separately in each forum... but anywayz..

My bass keeps cutting off when I his a certain level... for example when I am at "-22" on a song that hits hard, the bass will cut off unless I turn the music down to "-24", then it plays fine...

I want to know why this is happening... or can someone give me advice on how to fix it...

Sorry JL fanBOY, but that is FAR from the first option.

Craze have you tried yet to set your gains properly? To do this bring your stereo volume up to a level slightly abov the max you would bring it to or even turn it all the way up and be sure to have your gain control on the amp all the way down. (Do this while you have a good hard hitting song in the player too) Slowly bring your amps gain controls up until you hear a small amount of distortion or the amp begins to cut out as you are mentioning here and then bring it back another notch or two. Once your gains are properly set you should not have this problem so much anymore. If you do there are a few other options to go thru well before considering changing out power wires as JL fanBOY mentioned.

I will try that as soon as I get to my car but... I have my bass and sub turned down on my hu... I mean literally, cut ALL the way down... but I will tweek my gain immediately...

Plus, I have 4 Gauge power and 4 Gauge ground wire so I am figuring the wire should not be a problem...

How do I prevent my ground from going out... it keep losing the power... could it be that the screw is metal but what it is on, is rubber ??

The rubber does look like it is starting to melt away, but I have no other place that is convenience to ground my wire at.

LOL....**** dude thats your major problem there your amp cuts on then off...right? No good ground.. You could cut away the rubber until metal is flush with metal or find a better ground like trunk bottom metal!

Hmm... I just decided to change where my GROUND wire was and I put a metal washer at by ends of the ground wire connector...

I think that will be my best bet.. I mean it is not like I have a big car with alot of ground oppoturnities... plus, my GROUND wire is only like 3 ft., but it feels like less..

Hey,

Thats good just take the bolt/screw put the washer against the frame then the ground then tighten down the bolt you should get a good ground then.......good luck!
