ok, here is the install that i did on my 1997 cavalier 2door, it consists of:

Clarion DXZ-635mp

CDT-HD-62 components (HD-6, DRT-25, 560)

MB Quart RA 2400 (200watts rms x 2) for components

Orion 1200D (1200watts rms x1) for sub

RE XXX 12" D2 Sub

3.5cu foot box tuned to 28hz

100sq feet bquiet extreme

stinger interconects, and various stinger wiring 1ga and 4ga wiring

it took me about a month to get everything done, but im very happy, i just wish my xxx was a bit louder, as my HD-62's can make you ears bleed...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

well cause i planned on using aeroports, but some idiot on these forums told me that it was the port length that the box generator gave me divided amoung the ports, ie. 30" port length, so 10" for each 3" port... wrong.. after i figured that out the box was already built.. so i had to improvise, and it actually worked out quite well.. sounds **** good, i still have to clean up the doors a bit though, maybe but some matching cloth over the old speaker grilles...

no eqing done, i just set the gains by ear with test tones, i tried using a multimeter but i kept getting a reading way higher than i should.. maybe wrong settings on it..

how would i go about eqing the setup? as my deck does not have a eq setting... oh, and the components are low passed at 80hz to the sub

the ports are funny.... whatever works.. plus at some point you coudl makea f ake panel to make it look liek they arepart of the box.... or just paint them black.

the doors.... what can ya do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Exactly what I was thinking, but with Fiberglass! Put some flares on the end of those puppies and paint them black =) Try to drill some holes on your aim rack and run the wires into and under the amp rack. Good stuff though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i really couldnt hide the wires under the rack as its bolted right to the floor with no space underneith, i think it looks alright the way it is though, not to bad for my first install i think, i just need to figure out how to make the doors look cleaner.. i might use that idea about a peice of wood covering the ports and making it look like part of the box, sounds like a good idea... thanks alot all
