4 gauge for 1000 watts

and only a 60amp fuse... i have never blown a fuse, even when running my concept cc-d1200

a few easy questions...

1) is it really necessary to upgrade my wire for a xenon 600.1 and a 180.2?

2) with bigger wire, would i pull more current and possibly increase my power output?

3) would i see some more voltage issues with bigger wire because it can pull more current?

Well there is no such thing as a zenon 600.2, or 180.2 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif . But yes I would run atleast 2 guage for the setup you have, and you should be fine. 1/0 guage would be the best, but u should be fine without it. Remember the 600.1 puts out 800+, and the 200.2 is nearly 500 watts.

I would run a 1/0ga. in and (2) 4ga. out if it was me. I have a similar setup (Arc 900.1D and 400.4) with no problems on a stock electrical system. While you could probably get away with 4ga., you would be much safer with 2ga.+

Its not AS bad as you may think...the thing that was a ***** was making a hole big enough in the firewall....other than that, it was cake....atleast in my car. Just run it under the carpet....

4 is more than enough. Going bigger would only be for future upgrades. IMO you could add another 300-400w and still be ok with 4 ga.

Went to Radioshack recently and the owner led me away from 1/0 and told me to buy 2 gauge. One thing I did learn from him is that you can get 2 gauge easily from any hardware store -- look for welding cable... I found 2 gauge at $1.20/foot that's not too bad.

Need a little advice. Looked at the wire guide sticky, but would still like some opinions.

Going to run a MTX 2200 for the sub (200 watts RMS) and a MTX 282 for the front and rears (90 x 2 at 2 ohms). Is 4 ga an overkill or would 8 ga work just fine, only about a 16 foot run from battery to the trunk. Also, does using a distro block for the grounds a bad idea, 2 8 ga in, one 4 ga out?
