what kind of songs have u played on it so far? Once u get a chance to listen to it more and test some different types of music on it u should give an in-depth review being one of the first ppl to hear this beast.
here is my quick review...
We've built 6 enclosures for the new XXX.
We've found 2.0 - 2.25^ft tuned @ 35-37Hz to work the best. With 2,000rms.
I have one in my car, it's been in testing phase for the last 4 weeks. A few different enclosures. The best "sounding" enclosure so far in my car has to be the current enclosure... 2.75^ft after displacement, 40sq^in port, tuned @ 36Hz. The next enclosure will be 2.25^ft w/35 sq^in port tuned @ 37.
Currently I'm running two Planet Audio BB1250.1 strapped @ 1ohm. I know, I know... that's .5 ohm per amp. But F it, know what I mean?
Stock Alternator with two Stinger batteries. One in the stock location and one next to the amplifiers. 0ga running throughout the car with upgraded grounds.
The Sub is very, very loud with low frequencies. For example 15Hz - 40Hz are very overwhelming. But the type of Music I listen to doesn't have a lot of these frequencies present. Mostly the upper range of 40-60Hz. The tight accurate response of this woofer is unreal, seriously. As log as you have the power t drive it, it will play anything you throw at it. At first I was a little disappointed with the upper frequency response. But we found out the enclosure was too big, tuned too low with low power (ie ~1,000rms). After giving the sub the power it deserves and tuning the enclosure a little higher, the Sub is phenomenal on all Music. Don't get me wrong, the low freq. are much louder than the "high end" but that's going to be expected when you have a woofer than moves more than ~100mm.
If anyone has any questions, shoot.
Oh, we did a slight "SPL" enclosure for it, 5.5after, 60sq^in, 55Hz tuning. With 2,000rms it make quite a bit of noise @ 60Hz on the "Butt Dyno"
