My pioneer cd player only plays bass?

I was listening to my CD player ,and all of a sudden it just started to only play bass.

are the speakers running off the head unit or another amp? i think its really unlikely for all the speaker wires to come loose. but im pretty sure all cd players have internal amps and that could have gone bad. i would trying a diff unit in there to see if it works.
