my midrange has no bass, why?

ok when i first tested the connection, i hooked up the wires straight from my HU to the 6.5" midrange. it had killer bass, even being free aired. after i install the xover, and setup my tweeters, the bass disapeared. all i can heaer is 6x9 bass. why is this?

Did you hook up the woofer to the tweeter output?

no. i didnt. the woofer is in the woofer location. for my input, i used my existing wires from my door speakers. since its being ran off of HU power at the moment. so my old door speakers control the input. my midranges are in the right spot, and so are the tweeters. i may have messed up when i ran the wire thru the hole and switched up the neg on my woofer to the pos on the cross over. ill undo my doors and check it out tomorrow i guess. make sure its connected right. but when i hooked up just my midrange to my existing speaker wire i had ran to my old 5.25's, it had killer bass. now theres none.
