i dont want to run a amp just a head unit ... also would like to use it to test a couple amps without hooking up just see if they work you think itll work .. also mine is a schumacher it has 2amp 10amp and 50amp which would i use ???

Just for a headunit you should be fine with the charger on 10 amp, maybe bump it up to 50 if your gonna be blasting music. If you just want to see if things work than the charger alone is fine but don't try to blast music through an amp without a battery. See how it works on 10 amp before bringing it up to 50.

ok i might have miss worded my ? all i want to power with it is a HU with a pair of speaker running off off it but occasionally hook an amp to to to make sure the amp works ,not play music

so you say a HU should run fine off of 10amps right ??

yessir, but if the headunit shuts off, dims, has voltage issues you might need to bump it up to 50 but i doubt you will need to.
