Well here is the story. I bought an HID kit. I know nothing about cars, so I was gonna get it installed professionally. The installed looked very simple, so I figured it be very simple for the professional install and only charge like 50 dollars. I was willing to pay 50 bucks for a Pro install I figured. So I go to the shop and like " Hey how much would an HID install" his reply was " Well we sell our HID for about 650 400 for the HID and 250 for the install. So Id have to charge you 250. So then I just walked out. Called another company and there charging 175. At this time im just like screw it im NEVER gonna pay that much for an install so i decided to give it a try. Took me about 30 mins. But its bothering me, why would they charge 250 dollars for an install. Can they really do it THAT much better?

I was a little overwhelmed when I opened my Bi-xenon kit also. Shop quoted me $150. I walked out too. Did it myself in 30 min also. But then I was without a stereo for a day because I had to get a smaller connector for my power cable to fit the power cable for the HIDs on the terminal. New batteries coming soon....

Looks like a nice install. But I would have went with a lower Kelvin bulb. You dont get as good as brightness with those hotter bulbs. But if you like the color than thats all that matters.

Yeah, i installed my HID in about 10-15 min. zip tie the ballasts down, plug in theconnectors, then tap into the wires. easy, had them on my van. also had 800K, but could have been sent 10000K on accident.

they charge that much because most people are too scared to even think about doing it themselves. oh, and because they can!

but if you wire your own audio, then doing a HID install is cake.

I think 6000k is supposed to be the best output.

Looks great, clean install!
