My HC has arrived!

Got here 4 days early. Building my ported box which will be 3 cu ft. ported tuned between 30-35HZ. Man this sub is heavy. I can only imagine what the XXX or Brahma must weigh. Will try to take some pics after its installed. And it begins. I will probably get another one later.

Well right now it will only have 750-800 watts running to it at 4-ohms. Until I can get a great Class D amp. Should I still break it in. I had it hooked up to my surround system in the house but it played at full range so I figured it was a waste of time.

i hope you had a x/o running.....or only having a bass tone playing. you need to run it at very low volumes for 6-8 hours with that 800 watts when you put it into the box. or, you could hook it up to your home amp and play a 20hz test tone so that the cone barely vibrates.....there are plenty of threads about breaking in subs>>>>>>>>search //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

My box is going to be 3 cubes ported tuned between 30-35 HZ. I thought that ported boxes required less power and sealed required more. Do I have this backwards. I'm only going to put 750 watts to it.

OK cool I was afraid the 750 watts would not be enough since the HC is 1200 watts RMS. I've had a sealed enclosure and it got deep but not as loud as I wanted it to be. 750 should be fine.
