My first system.

OK, so a little update thanks for anyone that helped with my problem of not getting any sound out of my HU. I got it fixed and it works great now.

Next, I am a little bit disappointed with my polk audio db 571's. I know they were only 60 bucks but I'm still a little disappointed in them, and I will be investing in some 6 1/2 components up front. Which brings me to my first question, whats are some good 6 1/2 components? I want them to be loud! Still clear, and also very crisp almost piercing highs. They will be running off a little Kenwood 60x2 @ 4ohm amp.

Now, onto my type r's they're in a ported box, and wow! They are great! And crazy loud! I am very happy with that purchase. But I want 3, at the moment I have a Hifonics 1200 mono block, which I know I will need to upgrade if I'm going to be getting 3, I need some help deciding on a ported or sealed triple box though, I will be building it myself. How would a 3 sealed type r's compare to my 2 in a prefabe ported box? And also I'm thinking a hifonics 2500d for 3 of them? All dual 4ohm coils, that would get me somewhere in the 2-3ohm range?

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks in advance!

id choose 2 ported over 3 sealed. And depending on ohm load the 2500 is a little much unless the gains are low(again ohm load also )

just looks like a waste of a few couple hundred to me.

for starters, you need to slow down and think about what the hell you want. you just put equiptment in and want more already? that shows you didn't think very much about it or you just jumped at what you thought was good. you need to put out there some kind of budget for comps. or you could get the answer of "here's some $1800 focals". 60x2 isn't loud enough then just changing the speakers isn't gonna get you what you want, you'll need to geta stronger amp too. you'll want something around 100-125watts for the comps you pickout. if you plan on makeing your own box, then why did you buy a prefab for those typeR's? chances are the tuning of the box is too high and the box is too small for those subs. send RAM_Designs a pm telling him what subs you have and what car you have em in, and the dimensions that you are able use for your box. send him 10bux and he'll send you a blue print on what exactly to make. you can't just take any subs and throw it in whatever kind of box you want to.

thats a great link to figure out how to wire you subs and how many ohms you will get.

I read somewhere that 800watts each to the type r's are great. You will want to check out their specs on the website or from the manual you got with them to figure out the best size box and what to tune it for. I wouldn't go sealed with the type r's. In the box design section of this forum there is a sticky with tons and tons of blueprints with different sizes and htz and all the dimensions you would need to build it. Do a ton of research before buying anymore. I am trying to build a system now and even though I don't want to wait I'd rather buy the right stuff the first time.
