Well I don't think hes interested in buying either a refurbished amp or a 4 channel amp...

True OCA is always better, thats true, but I think CCA would suffice in a 1000-1200 rms install (especially since he isnt even gonna be running at 1 ohm until he gets an additional sub, or possibly never)

And I think it would be a waste of time to buy a custom box for a single sub if he plans on upgrading to duals. Rock a cheap $30 prefab until you buy a second sub and go all out, or else that whole custom single box is now firewood

you wont be getting the most out of the sub with that box at all but if its just short term then its up to you.

No, not all soundstream is bad. Just like not all hifonics are good.

And we can't compare refurb to new products here or we could go on all day arguing prices

Realistically, though, top end 1200rms amps are ridiculous to pay any more than $200 I believe. If you're looking for 3500rms amps thats one thing, but with power so minimal you will not notice the difference.

You're gonna have to decide if you want to go ported or sealed first

OP, return that amp and buy my Rockford Fosgate P1000. It will run two SA8a easy. 1 ohm stable. I have it listed for $250 but make me an offer and I'll consider it. Rockford is a great amp. Not that the one you have isn't but Rockford is on another level.
