My First Box (Pics)

Well as the title says, i just finshed building my first box. It is a Sealed Box to hou-se a 12" Alpine Type R. Its .85Cu FT

This was also my first attempt at carpeting so all n all i feel like it came out pretty good for my first attempt, especially for the limited tool selection i had.

Its .85 before displacement (thats what ALpine Recommends). It sounds good. I think that the Type R is not all it was hyped up to be though, But mabey thats beacuse im running it sealed.. im not sure. It could also be something wrong with my setup, as im not getting the excursion i should and that i seen in other Type R Videos, But if i give it more power it starts to bottom out.. (Its running about 550watts right now.)

its because your running it in a TINY sealed box. 1 cube ATLEAST is what is reccomended. they changed that spec after the release. its also becuase its in cabin. if u had a trunk, and 1 cube sealed youd be set up nicely. thats what im running and love it.

Yep, I bet you get some nice upper bass with it, but I also bet you are lacking in the really low bass. Thats just the tradeoff you make with a small sealed box.

That sucks that you don't have much room to work with. If I had my old F150 I would cover the bed and work my subs in the bed but you probably have use for the bed. Came it good though

Really Alpine changed their specs? What the hell... I went by the manual and it says .7-1.0 cu ft sealed.. Optimize for .85 before displacent, so thats why i made..
