I only have about $600 so please don't diss the stuff i picked out.. i just want something better then stock crap; my car has a radio that cant even play mp3 cd's and the car has 4 stock 6.5 speakers that are 15 watts each. The car actually sounds kinda decent until a song with heavy bass plays.

I just need to make sure this stuff is all compatible and what not.

Raido $220-JVC - KW-XR810 JVC Mobile Entertainment \ KW-XR810 - KW-XR810 \ Specifications

Subwoofer/amp kit $220-Amazon.com: Fusion Encounter EN-AT1100 10-Inch 300W Amplified Bass Package + Amp…

Speakers $110- not sure which ones yet.. just 4x 6.5 inch speakers

its a 05 honda element so from what i can tell from looking at the old speakers the size is 6.5.. not completely sure tho.

I suggest going with a cheaper head unit, there spending more on your amp and sub....

As for speakers you could easily get 4 6.5's for $110....

Audiopipe has great prices for alot of power if you change your mind on amps, and Type R's get loud and are cheap....

Oh, in case you are unaware. That amp is 1ohm stable and the sub is dual 2, which can be wired to 1ohm. The sub will get 300rms at that load and will be much louder and sound better than that Fusion thing

so what would i need to hook that amp and sub up.... anything special... what gauge cable should i use to hook the amp to battery.... see i have never done anything with car sound systems so its all new to me...

i set up my own 1000w home theater/hd projecter... but all that seems pretty different..

and that speaker you linked comes in a sealed box... i thought sub-woofers need to have port holes for the air to reverberate through

Won't diss you for equipment. I will diss you for the fact that 110 bucks would buy half way decent front speakers. But you will instead choose to go with conventional wisdom that says the back of your head needs to hear, and spread it out among four more mediocre speakers.

Clifs, get a decent pair of fronts and forget about the rears. Heres what I would get.

Head/109 - DEH-2200UB - Pioneer CD Receiver with iPod Direct Control and USB Input

Fronts/119 - Shop CDT Audio - M6 Braxial - Pair

Amp kit/39 - POWERKIT-4 - American Accessories 4 Gauge Amp Kit

Sub/99 - Alpine SWR-1042D Type-R 10" subwoofer with dual 4-ohm voice coils at Crutchfield Signature

Amp/239 - SAX-125.2 - Sundown Audio 125W 2-Channel Amplifier

Now what I would do is bridge that 125.2, you'll have 400w going to your R. Then when you can upgrade your sub and sub amp you will be able to use the 125.2 on your fronts which would be alot cleaner and louder than playing them on your head unit.

these **** it is barely even 10g wire....no where close to 4

stick with the pheonix gold / cadence setup that umwdawg suggested. that kicker cvr that someone else suggested is trash. i had 2 in 3 different boxes and the were loud but the could not play low lows for shit. 45hz was so loud but under 45 hz they were weak as hell

sounds like an everyday cvr
