i just removed the factory stereo from my 2002 malibu and i think i may have messed up something to do with the security feature. my car won't idle anymore, it simply dies! i know the car has a security system but i don't know the essentials of it! i have to go to college tommorrow so please help me!!

could be your idle RPM speed is set too low. Theres a screw that lets you increase this.
Sounds like the problem only occured after the receiver was taken out. Search online or go to autozone and get a helms manual.

you never know what the problem is. weird shit happens //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Was the battery disconnected for a long time (30+ minutes)? The reason I ask is because when I was working on my amp I left the battery disconnected for about that long. When I started my truck when I was done it did the same exact same thing. I think that resets the cars computer or something. Just drive it around for a few minutes and it should be fine, make sure to keep your foot on the gas at stops to keep is from dying. That’s what the fix was in my case.

on a fuel injected ecm controlled car??? no chance in hell there's an idle screw anywhere on that motor...idle is controlled thru the ecm...

no,chances are u activiated the security feature when u pulled ur head unit. on alot of gm cars they have several items running thru the radio and removal of it without using the proper install harness to tell teh comuter everything is good, ur car can/will act weird.

reinstall the hu and see if it fixes the issue...i'd wager it does...if it doesn't, u'llprobably have to go to ur local dealer to get it flashed....

well the car starts then suddenly dies, it revs but no matter what it dies in like a half a second, i did put the stock unit back in and it still does the same thing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

welp, i'm sure it's an ecm problem then....u'll probably have to take it to a local dealer an get it fixed...

one other thing...

have u tried to disconnect the battery for a bit? take off the positive terminal and let it set for a couple of minutes. then hook ur terminal up and try again....

if that doesn't work, see option a...
