if the rings worn, you most likely need the block honed out, buy a new motor 307s **** anyways ez fix with a 350 .....

I have talked to several mechanics, every last one of them told me different shi*. but for the mechanics on here it sounds like something is dinging in there when i press the gas.

Rings = shortblock

$1k for the motor and $1k to install. Just a guess, that is what the going rate was about 5 years ago when I had a motor replaced.

if u have a drill, you can buy a hone with stones for less than $30 and the new rings are less than $20....then gaskets for the bottom end

thinking about just replacing the motor with a 350. already have brand new th400 *****. but motor= more money . Bad motor thats going to **** up even more= priceless peice of shit

motor overhaul kit around here for that motor is less than $600, cam for $100, match up with the turbo 400 and you'll have a toy

edit: the kit is a short block build minus the crank and cam
