my box (PICS)

Id like to know what those trim peieces on the top are for. Look like rubber feet or sumthing like you put them on the top instead of the bottom. Overall thogh its a good box but you def should have went ported.
i didnt have a rabbiting bit nora router so it is the edges of the vinyl so i covered it up with trim pieces and i didnt go ported because i would need room in a trunk of a car

Not to bad. I have seen and done worse. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Not to be a "e-dick" or anything. But large flat enclosures like that are about the easiest thing to wrap. Try wrapping some kicks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

it was a first time and i couldnt find carpet so lets see you do vinyl for the first time

Dude, we are giving constructive criticism.......you expect us to lie to you? The box looks good, the vinyl job doesnt. I would take it off and carpet the thing.....sheesh //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

I'm with PV on this one...Contstructive criticism isnt "it looks like ***" you ****tards. How about, "looks alittle rough" instead or "You could have done better but nice work." Jesus christ, ya'll should never be coaches for a kids team. You did good for your first time man but practice makes perfect.

I was sticking up for you. Notice the quotation marks next time.
this is where the age comes into play. He cant even tell when someone is taking up for him.lol.

I thought to myself, all day while at work mind you, that maybe I was being hard on the little guy. So I come back to check it again and I really inspect it and heres my true assessment....

1)Cant really determine the quality of the box itself because there are no pics of the build.

2)the vinyl really doesnt look that good. Sure it may have been hard but maybe you should've tried carpet first.

3)You bought the type R's so you should know the need to be ported to get their full potential. Since you weren't going to port maybe you should've bought subs that didnt need ported.

4) If you're happy thats all that really counts. BUT, if you post on a forum and ask for opinions don't expect everyone to be courteous. It's an opinion for crying out loud and you shouldn't want to e-fight just because you dont get the responses you want.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Another box build thread gone down with more argumenting. Anyways, where did you get the vinyl and how much did it cost? Also, checkout the automotive section if you have a nearby walmart. They have 2 linear yards of carpet for like 8-9 bucks, not too bad of a price.

Also would anyone by chance have any links to a 'vinyl tutorial' thread.

Give the guy a break, and be a little easier on the criticism. It's nice to give him pointers, but a new guy doesn't need bashing when he's still learning. Atleast he's working on it instead of buying a prefab or something.

i got it at a place called Joanne Fabrics and 2 yards wasnt enough the bottom didnt get wrapped all the way but o well you cant see the bottom and i paid 11 bucks for 2 yards

There's part of the problem my brother. I absolutely hate the vinyl they sell at jo anns with a passion. The crap barely stretches at all ( stretch is a needed thing for us ) Did you use a heat gun or a hair dryer ? What kind of glue did you use ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
