While I entirely agree and do myself buy Hanes>Nike and Store Brands>Mainstream, however you're comparing apples to oranges. Socks are socks. Soda is soda. Mouthwash is mouthwash. Electronics however had very different components making them the price they are. JL supposedly (I say that because I don't have resources to back that as I'm at work on break) uses higher quality parts do therefore they charge top dollar. I also agree with you that they do intact add on an extra 15% or so just because it's "JL Audio". AudioPipe is "budget amp" and therefore uses lower quality parts and can charge less. I'm willing to pay for quality in situations like electrical/automotive/home improvement/food but any other time I choose the store brand equivalent. I see things as an investment. You'll more than likely have to replace the AudioPipe a few times before you have to replace the JL. For some people that's acceptable while others, like myself, can't stand that.
