My Amp And Subs, Are Hitting On There Own Free Will.

Okay so i currently have:

A Single 12inch Sub hooked up, and grounded well, hits like champ, the level/gain is all the way up whatever blah blah blah.

Then i have a 4000 watt amp, hooked up to 2x 12in subs, vented box, grounded in the same place (but on the other side of car as the other amps ground) and the rcas all ran the same, power wire fine, there wires are NOT close, there is no better ground. And when i turn up the level to about 1/2 of the way the subs just sit there and hit, boom boom boom boom, then slow down a bit, boom boom, then fast again. They do this even when, the car is OFF, but the key is backward turning the stereo and amp on. AND with no music playing, CD out, ipod unplugged, and volume at 0.

Not sure what the heck to do, but im getting very frustrated.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the power wire does have like 3 spots where i had to add more wire here and there, and all i did was twist and tape, i know thats not good, and i do have a solderer, and i do know how too, so if anyone things maybe my amp isnt getting the power it needs?

So wait you have a single 12 or dual 12s? Or do you have both?? First off ditch one or the other, stick with 1 12 or 2 12's, not both......
I have both, a box with 2x 12s and a box with a single 12.

No way am i getting rid of any, my car sounds amazing.

My level isnt all the way up, its about half, and if i go higher with it, it starts to hit on its own.

And if i could turn it up more, wouldnt my subs be louder? But i dont want them hitting on there own like that.

What size power wire are you running.?

What brand and model amps?

Are the subs the same. ( they should be)

The subs should be in the same box. unless they are mix matched. which is frowned upon.

You need solid wire. one solid peice. dont use stuff that have been cut and taped back.

I bet that "ramdom bass" is the amp clicking on and off due to bad grounds or POS leads. or maybe the Remote turn on lead if shorting out.

The subs may or may not be louder. depends on the capacity you play them vs their limitations.

2x 12 inch JLs - 1200 watts each. 4000 watt pyle amp. Ported box.

1x 12 Inch Alpine - 500 watt. 1800 watt amp. Enclosed box.

4 Door speakers - All 6inch Sonys

2 front dash speakers, 4x6 Sonys

2x 6x9 Memphis speakers, boxed off and in the back of vehicle.

Been using all this for about 2 years now. Not the loudest around here, but no one can match my sound quality cause you can still hear the lyrics and feel the base with the volume up.

On the amp with the problem, the ground is the best ground possible, talked to my audio shop.

My power wire probably should be all soldered up. I will do that.

My remote wire is all one wire, no shorts (already checked)

And no the amp doesnt kick on and off, because the LEDs never fade on the top. And the power light stays on.

I have the level about 1/2 turned up, you can slightly still hear the subs going thump thump, but not bad, and the more i turn it up, the louder the thump gets.

4 gauge power wire. 6 gauge ground.

the RCAs are fine, cause i unplugged the ones from my other amp (which isnt have any issues) and plugged it in, and it still does it.

I almost thing i need to open up my amp and see if the RCA connection is bad, thats like my last thought...

Maybe if i can find the cord that goes in the hi line input, i can try running that from the HU to Amp instead of RCAs.

Because it appears my RCA connection inside the amp is bad, and my amp has a Hi In, and my HU has a Hi line.

So that may work?

Running different brand and model subs is just full of fail. Sounds amazing huh?? I want vids of this amazing sounding system because I am willing to bet it truly sounds like crap and you just don’t realize it or you don’t care. Not trying to be an arse just trying to be as frank as possible with you. Take it or leave it. GL man

So hitting on its own, you sure you aren't running a FLUX Cap?? That could be why they are "hitting on there own" Good luck with those 2 different subs....I smell someone trying to troll...
