My 3rd mechman alt is dead!

haha niceee

My Mechman has worked flawless so far, bout to add a MLA module prolly soon for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
haha thanks, its much needed...

and good BOTH my mechman alts work awesome...both external regulator

something is not wired correctly however i am horrible at explaining stuff..I thing the toggle switch could have a lot to do with it..That doesnt sound right at all it shouldnt be needed to make it work..something is wrong in your circuit..the ext. reg could have a issue causeing the alts to fry..also just cause you have 0 gauge as the wire size doesnt mean it is grounded good the point of that ground could be bad...

its a great ground

ok then i am very sure something is rong with the way you have wired the alt and reg or a intermittent short somewhere in the harness have ran into that before and its a ***** to find..

You fried 4 alternators?

You have a wiring problem somewhere.

Eliminate the ghetto toggle switch and wire that thing up proper. You are asking for trouble trying to manually operate the alternator. The regulator determines the output of the alternator. By switching it on manually you might be causing it to operate at full load all the time. Wire it as instructed and insure that all of the wiring is correct and try again. While this switch might give you better voltage during times of high current draw you are probably destroying the alternators. 4 alternators dead should say something.

What does Matt at Mechman say about your toggle switch?

he said theres nothing wrong with it. the mother ****ing reson i have a toggle switch is becuse i need a unregulated power wire to have the ext volt reg work right.

my computers "pcm" sets all the wires in the car to 13.8v. put any wire in the car to that ext volt reg it will not be able to change the voltage.

in other words the PCM will override the ext volt reg unless it has a clean unregulated power souce

im confused? the regultor shouldnt need to recieve more than 13.8 volts right?

because all that does it give the regulator juice so it would work??? correct me if im wrong

no the pcm will override the ext volt reg cuz its controlling the voltage the ext volt reg is geting. so when its to any stock car wire its going to always be @ 13.8v and only send out 13.8v and no more.

I'm not understanding why Mechman isn't being more of assitance to you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Did you try telling him how you have your setup with a toggle switch?
