My 1st box almost done

use a lot of screws, and silicone. silicone is a sh*t bonding agent, so it wont be hard to take the top off. what i wouldve done is left the bottom piece unglued. since you're painting it, you'll probably fill in the screw holes, so taking the top off would be nearly impossible.

Dont just use alot of screws....

The screws are there to keep the joint tight while the glue forms a bond. You'll do nothing more but increase the chances of cracking the wood and creat alot more holes to fill.

use wood filler.

the reason i suggested lots of screws is because when u build a ported box, or a complex one such as that, the top boards often dont go down flat and end up leaving minor gaps. screws could help this. you probably have had to build a box to understand what i'm talking about.

I know how to build a box...If you did, you would have made accurate cuts to where there isnt gaps;)

Thats a nice looking W.O. you have there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif That is a pair of 10's , correct?!?

For the guys that were asking,... that box is called the "Wicked One", plans can be found at http://www.decware.com/newsite/intro.htm

Thats is all I know about the design,.. I have seen it before. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

its just a folded horn. kind of like a bandpass and a ported box mixed with a horn. quite cool if you get it done... PERFECT.

im going to build one... hopefully... for... somone in the future.they are sweet boxes. keep us updated on the sound of the box. i really wanna know how they sound.

and just get some of this to seal the top -> http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=269-300

get a few, and just string them on there... kind of like a sticky, non glue kinda thing. predrill all the holes, lay this stuff between the boards, and screw everything into place //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Great job on your first box! Its no small task to build a folded horn as your first box, especially that type of design.
