Mustang speakers

I have a 2010 mustang and I plan on adding some sort of sub to the trunk, but keeping with the stock HU and power for speakers. Would it sound better to replace the stock 6x8s with my RE 6.5s with an adapter or should I get new 6x8s?

Also, will having the 8" subs in the doors effect the sound of the sub? Thanks
