Mustang install critique

I am a noob and did search for reviews on these components. I have an 89 Mustang Hatchback and want to install a system in it. My goals are 1) sound quality, 2) keep costs down and 3) keep it simple. I listen to everything from country to hip hop to metal. I do want tons of bass just a nice clean sound. I have the head unit but need to buy everything else. I am going to deaden the doors, roof, and rear hatch area. I know I am going to need to modify the door panels to make these fit and don't mind the work. This is what I have thought out:

Kenwood Excelon X990

Rainbow SLX 6.5 comp

Rainbow 10” Hammer sub

US Amp XT-1600.4 amp.

Let me know what you think and am open to suggestions. I want to keep a budget of around $800. I priced it out Premier Audio and it was $680 before shipping.

10 inch alpine type X can get loud and sound good doing so in a small sealed box.

never heard of anyone running that hammer sub, but rainbows got a great rep. i think premier audio is grossly overpriced IIRC, so check with don (6spdcoupe) for prices first. the SLC 265s are awesome speakers for around $230 shipped.

Looks good so far. You say you want a lot of bass, but I dont know if that 10" is going to do it for you.

If you do decide on the 10" sub make sure you install it in a low tuned ported box. You will want the output that a ported box has.

I like my SI Mag 12" in my truck (regular cab) its in a 1.2 sealed box and is running off anything from 600-1100rms. Gets loud, shakes everything, and is really, really clean.

My bad, I just noticed a little typo in my original post. I do NOT want tons of bass. I prefer bass that is tight and punchy.

Is the amp I selected up the task or should I get two amps?
