Much difference between Arc and Sundown?

I probably don't spend 1/4 of what you do on amps.
You may have your car audio shiznaz with buying the best brand first, paying $$$. I have technological experience on my side. I can take a mediocre amp and tinker with it to increase quality, and even power.

I don't quite understand, you buy RF, etc. I'm sure you spend, as stated earlier, 4x what I payed. I'm sure you've heard of the "HEEY MAN, JAY ELLE IS TEH SHEET MAN!" complex, or something of the same message.

It's really nice when you really know what you're doing. Have fun with your TO247 44n50s. I have nothing else to say.

RF has an excellent reputation for quality and reliability. Don't hate just know what you are talking about. Because you don't know how much I spent on my amps. Don't make stupid statements. I've honestly been less than impressed with Sundown's 2-channel offerings, other than the initial 100.2 prototype...

The Arcs I've heard, whether the KS series or Minis, have been dead quiet.

Can you measure the resistance from the turn-on lead input to the speaker terminals?

I'm thinking it was a bad batch, but I don't know what other people's amps are reading.

What do you want a metal for fixing old amps? I have stuck with Fosgate for a very long time since I used the Punch 150 in 1989 and two Punch 75 amps for around seven years. They have served me well for a very long time. While you are working on amps I went to grad school so I can get an education, so I can get a good career so I can afford to buy myself new RF Power Series amps. As long as I am working and paying my bills I can do whatever the hell I want to with my money. You spend your money chump on what you want and I will do the same.

I too know what I am looking at when I open up them amps up and if I had enough time in the day to do it I could fix them as well. I am too busy raising a family to worry about that stuff. However I have a nice collection of old school RF amps that I cherish that bring back the nostalgia from the days of the late 80's and early 90's. And they all work well.

Car audio is a hobby for me not my life. When I was in my early to mid 20's, yeah but now I have progressed, moved on and do other things with my life. Especially to be on a caraudio.com website bragging about how I can fix amps. I would rather save my money, travel with my wife and son, enjoy our house and save for my son's college one day. Car audio for me is the sheer pleasure of me enjoying quality music on the way to work with bass hitting me in the back. I don't have to buy broken amps to do that myself. And at the end of the day I have money in my bank account to enjoy the finer things in life than fixing broken amps. Get my drift, spend your money the way you like and I spend a small portion of my money buying my RF Power series amps. Again, I have friends who have been in the business for a very long time that give me good prices on my Fosgate stuff. Next time don't always assume things because you know what happens when you assume.

Truth be told it is very hard to audibly hear the difference between a decent amp and a high end model at moderate levels. When you start to use more power ... thats what makes all the difference and to some, it makes a world of difference. Robert Zeff designs and hand builds his SE line. Arc Audio is some of the finest quality in the world and one of a VERY small handful, still built in USA.

Comparing Arc amps with China outsourced parts for argument is BS. Then saying it's a waste of money only makes you look like a complete ignorant idiot. 19 years of experience doesn't mean sh!at unless you learn something. Judging by your erroneous statements you have only gotten hard headed. For the record RF used to make some great amps, even built in US. They still do make great reliable amps but they are no where near Arc's level. Sundown and all these other popular brands are nice but compared to Arc's SE line ... small potatoes. The price reflects this.

I really don't see how you can compare Sundown customer service to Arc if you have never owned them. Arc doesn't honor warranty from internet sales. They expect you to have money to buy the best. GO FIGURE!!! Authorized dealers deal directly with any problems. The amp doesn't justify how the music sounds. Your audio system is only as good as your weakest link.

Believe what you want to believe. Paying the extra $100-$300 between buying a Sundown and hand built Arc to me would be a waste of money. Again let me repeat myself clown. The difference in sound would be minimal and inaudible. Both are quality amps. The difference comes down to how you take care of them. Even a hand built Arc Audio SE will fail on you if beaten up, abused and ran over impedance load over time. Since the 90's, I have seen people around me run cheaply made amps for years and years and years with them sounding great because they take care of the amps over time. With the constant vibration and harshness of the inside of a car any amp even the Arc audio SE amp can fail and fail and quickly as one with outsourced Chinese parts. If you want to justify to the person who started this thread to spend the extra money for Arc Audio SE line then that shows your ignorance but I know better. I am not trying to say RF is better than any of the other amps because they are all of the same except the better amps are made with better parts. It's all about what you like. Like my signature says "find a brand you like and stick with it".

Buying the best parts from multiples brands that's it. You don't have to be on the nuts of a brand, except if that brand sponsors you. Then you can pretend stupid things on how that brand is so superior.
