Much difference between Arc and Sundown?

All amps sound the same. Car audio manufacturers are in business because people are foolish enough to believe that they hear sound differences between amps. People swap out and buy different amps believing when one will sound better than the other. It's better to get an amp that is built solidly, does it's rated power, and looks the way you want it to. Like the earlier post said, its better to focus on the speakers and head unit because that's where the sound comes from. All amps do is amplify the sound. Because of the difference in wattage, one amp may sound a little louder but that is it.
Tell that to the amplifiers that aren't exactly noise free //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

They don't all sound the same.

I've honestly been less than impressed with Sundown's 2-channel offerings, other than the initial 100.2 prototype...

The Arcs I've heard, whether the KS series or Minis, have been dead quiet.
The current models are *exactly* the same main PCB as the prototype.

We updated the crossover ranges on the second run of the 100.2 model - otherwise it was the same as the first run / prototype.

The 125.2 version has a whole new crossover board and 70-Amp FETs instead of 50-Amp FETs in the power supply - but the main PCB board is the same.

IMO, once you get away from the cheap shit, they do sound about the same. I can't tell the difference between say, a zapco and a DLS....I just can't. I am of the opinion that if I can't hear a difference, then it doesn't exist.

Comparing the two, I'd go with the one with high reliability.

did you ever stop to think that your processor or your CD that you use has noise in it that the SD amps pick up ? maybe you have low RCA voltage due to the HU/ processor makeing somthing weird not all amps are made the same some are more sensitive to peoples setups more than others. you think that when you took the amp out you didnt change something to make that noise from the proto to the production amp?

on another note i think SQ is stupid why would you be that anal about a car you drive? home audio i can see but its just music in a CAR drive your car if you hear the noise at 60MPH yea maybe the amp is picking up noise or you have a poor electrical system or you just **** at diagnosing noises they make noise suppressors for a reason

listen to a good sq car and I bet your opinion changes as well as some of your taste in music...

I was staying out of this until you made that last statement. I am very well versed in trouble shooting I was the one doing the trouble shooting Jim is referring to. And I agree they do make noise suppressors for a reason. They make great band aids to try and reduce noise not eliminate it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

SQ in a car isn't stupid. It makes as much sense as any other goal that doesn't sustain life.

Can you measure the resistance from the turn-on lead input to the speaker terminals?
I'm thinking it was a bad batch, but I don't know what other people's amps are reading.
Here are a list of amps I have sitting at my shop right now that have a measurable resistance from the speaker terminal to the remote, by the way :

Aura Force 400q-A

Kicker KX650.4

Focal Solid 2

Alphasonik PMA640HCA

Coral HA-240

Sony XM-754HX

Kicker SX-900.4

JL Audio e6450

American Bass SQ-540

Stetsom TH-2120

Stetsom TH-2250

Stetsom 2k5d

Stetsom 10kd

The only amps that don't measure that I measured this morning... Alpine PDX-100.4, MRV-1507, MRP-M1000, and an old Lanzar OPTI-50C

As to the original question. Either or would work. Both are decent amplifiers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Jim's confused lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif It wasn't that it was measurable. It was the fact that it was a huge difference //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i've listened to a lot of them and i will say it sounds amazing but its a little ridiculous just like SPL its a car it should sound great for daily driving not sitting in a controlled environment im just saying BOTH are getting way out of hand great sport i love it but you have to admit its getting crazy

and ramos i didnt mean anything towards you on that i was making the statement in general and not towards jim either sorry if you took it that way
