MTX with square subs now

im saying from personal experience the l5 sounds better, most likely because it was a dif set up then the l7 but also the l7 is def geered for higher output and on the square cones the edges flex and distort easily and moer amplitude with an l7 would cause more flex distortion, also every youtube video u see with solo x's they have little excursion, im not set on this idea,,what i mean is if u can show me a vid where a solo x has good excursion then i will believe u,

thats off of 2200wrms

heres another one

most all of the information you are stating is completely false and you have proven to me that you are not very knowledgable on any of the subwoofers you have mentioned

that is all

wow dude.. wht the hell is flex distortion? never heard of that one before..
hey - a Fi BTL has 16mm 1 way xmax, so that cant be that loud, right? a SSD has to be louder cuz it has more xmax.

stupid. when you use a sub in a ported box, xmax has very little to do with output relative to other factors..
especially playing at tuning

Wow dude, please don't post anymore.

MTX still makes good amps, but thats about it. My 12" 8500 didn't last a year off of 800 watts which is pretty sad really. That was in a sealed box too.

they were kicker's (stillwater's) buildhouse for yearsI dont believe they are anymore
I know- I forgot my smilies to indicate sarcasm. Oops //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif I still use the old "Solobarics" from them for friends from time to time. Old-schoolers still love them.

Everyone touts the old round solo's (and I was a fan of them in their day)... but isn't the new CVX a superior driver? I know according to Kicker it is.

Sometimes nostalgia remmebers things abit nicer than they were. For example, just the other day I read someone stating the old solo's were notiously efficient drivers. LOL? When they came out, they were popular for their sound quality, but more importantly, from their extremely small enclosure requirements (for the time). But, this also made them infamously inefficient, not the other way around.

Triangle subs is where it's at:
