Looking to build a ported enclosure for my single 13w6. I was wondering what size/tuning you have had luck with? I was thinking about 2.5cu tuned to 32hz or so I know JL recommends 1.875 so I dont know really know what these subs like...

I'd go with the specs provided by the people who designed and built the sub. Not trying to be a smart a$$ at all, just saying.

I'm getting a 13W6 installed next week in a ported enclosure, built to JL specs. I'll let you know how it sounds, but I expect it will preform as advertised. I'll post pics of everything when it's done.

Remember the W6 was specifically designed for "Strong output and great SQ from a small compact enclosure." Its right on the W6 section of their website. The W6 will work in smaller enclosures than many other subs. Just they way they were designed. Going bigger may net minimal change, and perhaps even hinder the performance of the sub.

I would stick with there reccomndations also, I think your amp will be more than enough, i was just loking at the JL webite and it hows a color graph where the woofer goes into the red zone at 600 watts and warrenty voided at 750

I got everything built and installed today, first impressions; Sounds pretty good its definitely accurate! Gonna let it break in a lil bit but I just hope its gonna be loud enough...I have an Alpine PDX 1.1000 I was thinking about swapping out the Sundown since I think the Sundown is at its limits at 2ohm to push this thing but I also think I might have to throw in a Kinetik to help out giving the amps some juice....

Is it ported? Sealed?

Here pics of mine with the specs. Mine sounds awesome. Very accurate and plenty of boom. It pounds pretty fierce. I'd be willing to bet it's in the 130's cranked up. I got mine running off a 500/1.

The box is a slightly modded version of their standard box. The net internal volume, after port and speaker displacement was still 1.875ft3, but instead of a slingle slot port I went w/ 2 square ports 6.5"h x 2"w x 27.625"l, for a nice symetrical look vs a port off to the side.

I built one that one of the JL techs emailed me, I believe it was 1.875cu total, I am not the best carpenter but it finished up pretty darn nice and pretty much right on with the blueprints, I just dont know if the amp is really giving it the full power because I have a huge voltage drop, I am thinking I might swap to the pdx and turn it down a lil with a Kinetik...I guess Im just used to having my old setup(3 Type Rs with 1500wrms) but this seems decently loud so far...
