anyonw know why they get so **** hot, buddy of mine has one and it gets so hot you cant touch it, its kindve ridiculous i think, dont get me wrong its a good powerful amp but gets way to hott. my memphis amps barely even get warm.

depends weather the mtx is ab class or d class. ab class runs much hotter than d class.

my MTX is barely warm to the touch after BEATING on it for at least an hour. actually, my 404 was cooler than my 1501.

but yeah, they're not the most efficient amps....

If it is getting that hot sounds like you are starving the amplifier of power.

Or you need to have it in a better ventilated place..

yep. if it's that hot it needs more power, a better ground, the gains backed off and ventilation.

its the mtx 3 channel like 1100 at 1 ohm bridged, its AB class, it was wired feeding out like 2 ohm load, not to much, gain was like half up and it was feeding a slim line jl tw513 and a kicker l5 12"

and it was final at 2 ohm cuz the tw5 is 3 ohm and the l5 was wired to 1 ohm and they were wired in parelell.
