wow good numbers. i have a 3404 and a 3401. my 3401 is rated at 400w @2ohms but puts out 488 so the put out a good bit more than there rated at. got a 5604 coming in tomorrow to replace my 3404.

yeah, cant wait to throw this amp on the massive cws. i was gonna get some internal pics, but i dont wanna void warranty.

it will run closer to rated power in car. There will be a slight increase in power at higher RPM's. To get it to run more consistant a Battery with a higher standing voltage (13.1v for example) will be needed. Or you can always run a 16v system but may not be recommended by Amplifier company.

Ok, so unless you have a special battery, you probably won't be running at 14.4 volts? So most people, running a stock electrical, or with an extra battery, probably won't get the full birthsheet wattage out of the amp?
It depends on the car. Some cars run on 14.4v alternators and others run on like 13.6v. The batteries are usually around 12v though. That's usually why you will have your lights dim when you draw a lot of current. The alternator can't supply it so the battery helps and the voltage drops because of it. Less potential at the lights means less power which means less brightness.

I liked it better when the birth sheets were signed by the person that tested them and the numbers were all in ink and not printed. I guess it made it seem more personal. Either way, great amp and awesome birth sheet. Their tech support is really helpful too.

Yea, your alternator is the power source for the car when it's running. If it wasn't there or if it died, your car would only be able to run until your battery died and then the car would die as well.

I didn't know the alternator had anything to do with it. I have an appointment today to get a 200 amp alternator installed into my 2000 Grand Prix. The stock one I have is only 60 amp,
60?! GM's been using 105A alts in all thier midsize stuff for YEARS, I'm seeing 102, 105 and 110 at all the replacement part sites including gmpartsdirect.com.

yea, when i drive my little gauge says 14v. the current amp i have now however draws a lot of current and if i turn it loud enough the gauge meter moves down. the amp is a cerwin vega exl 1000d.

thanks for the comments.

Nice!

I just ordered a TA81001 for my buddies type r's the other day. Solid amps, his was like $305 shipped which isnt bad at all imo for atleast 1500wrms.
