Hey guys i have been breakin in my sound system.... the 2 TYPE R' 15's the amp used is a MTX 1500D that i got and i had no problems very loud and nice. But recently i thought i did enough breakin in so i turned up the volume where i thought it was loud enough without distortin highs or subs and the subs stop playin and they kick in after 5 secs and play for a good 1 second and then cut out for another 5 secs and over again..so i thought maybe its the gains i turned em down and the subs kick in again but only when the volume is low when the subs barely move.....so im thinkin the amp is not stable at 2 ohms? Also this was when it was really hot outside about 100F, maybe thats why ill give it a try at night when its colder......any thoughts? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/help.gif.cee8f684da1ba626487a8bc51152e1ec.gif

this is the connection i did, but i did one by one. Meaning i connected on sub to channel and the other sub to the other chanel its still is 2 ohm right?

I would run 1/0 gauge on it...

I don't really understand what youre saying, you said that everything shuts off for like 5 seconds while playing it loud? Or just the subs? Clipping maybe? 750 a peice is a tad for the Type R but I've heard of running 1000 to one...

yah the subs shut off for 5 seconds then they play for about one second and the cut off for another 5 and keeps on doin it. Im thinkin that the amp cant handle the 2 ohms? or its not stable at that even tho it says it is? i ono

from canada so 100f makes NO SENSE until the magic of the internet ~38c degrees, n fack thats hot man im assuming its the heat if its all wired properly, like u sed try wen its cooler at like night or sumptin

lmao, had the same problem b4, thought i was doin somethin wrong..thought it was the amp aswell.

upgrade ur wires and fuse to about 200amps.

i had 4guage wire on a 100amp circuit, @4ohms the amp ran like a champ, at 2 it shut off after 25 seconds of play.

i went n seen how many volts the amp was getting. at 4ohms with 4guage wire being run i was doing 12.5 volts at idle on a burp and 2ohms, 11.1 at idle with a burp

then upgraded the wire to 0 guage and upgraded my circuit breaker to 200amps and now: 4ohm does 13.2volts at idle on a burp....droping it down to 2ohms a 12.4

try by-passing all the speaker 1 / speaker 2 b.s cause its internally bridged...all i did was run the + to speaker 1 + and the - to speaker 2 -.........its the same thing..i forget how the hole internally bridged thingy works..

When we designed the 1501D/81000D/1000D the I/0 Gauge connecter is there for a reason.

For best performance you need an electrical system that can also keep up. Welcome to the big power.

At the least, one should feel inadequate using 4 ga on an I/0 Gauge input.

Interesting; Didn't know you Mitek guys checked the boards. You should pop your head in more often.......hearing from the people behind the product is never an unwelcomed event, nor is having another knowledgeable frequent member //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
